Discover Selangor – the “hunter’s” way…

Again, for 2 Sundays in a row, I tortured myself by making me wake up at 6.30 – a.m! Today, I crawled outta bed asking myself, why did I bring this upon myself? Waking up at wee hours in the morning.. Oklah.. not really wee hours but it sure is early for my standard! He he…………….. hey even on work days I wake up at 8.30!!!

After having a quick breakie of instant waffles and maple syrup, we arrived at Dataran Kemerdekaan Shah Alam close to 8 am, forced to loosen up by doing some sort of senaman beramai-ramai (which was sooo governmenty event) “exercise”, endured some speech and at about half 8, we were flagged off. We began the task by counting the number of Selangor flags in a round-a-bout. Ha ha ha… it’s soo not the normal “brain-wrecking” sorta treasure hunt. The questions were really direct and “no-brainer” questions.

There was this one question, which read “Place where you can buy fish”. We saw 2 possible places with possible answers:
1. Chua Aquarium; and
2. Pasar Pelabuhan Kelang.
We were sooo thinking outside the box – like, is it.. place to buy dead fish OR place to buy healthy living fishies? Ha ha ha we even consulted a flipping coin’s advice which said not once but 3 times that it’s Chua Aquarium. Unfortunately, the event manager didn’t reveal the answers so we will never know which it was.

The hunt took us all the way to Pulau Indah and Bukit Melawati. Interesting places which I wanna go again to look for those infamous kelip-kelips. Oh, I also learnt that Star Cruises is own by tycoon Tan Sri Lim Goh Tong…

After 250km of “search and travel”, in which we completed within 4 hours, we were left to complete the last task which is to come up with a slogan for this group of people who will be going all over the world for some adventure. After much thought over very, very sweet limau ice at this kopitiam in Section 10, Shah Alam, we came up with “Atasi Cabaran Mencapai Wangsa Jati” <--- something like that lah. And………… with that we got this.. I think all the 8 top teams got 100% correct answers, but the slogans determined whether it’s RM5,000, RM2,500, RM1,500 or hampers with food stuffs.

So, RM1,500 bahagi 4 - we sorta break-even lah, i.e. balik modal la, since last week we only managed to win some kao biore facial cleansers, water tumblers and torch lights.. Last week was MENSA’s Hunt in which we got 16th placing (though Len might attest to that… he he he oklah Len, we got 18th he hehehe… 16th, 17th and 18th place had a tie) outta 39 teams. That hunt left my brain – brainless.. !!! Gile susah ok the questions!

Am so glad we won (though only managed to secure 2nd runner up, it’s still something) this Selangor one… Well done Betul La Kot team-mates, Tokkie, Yates and Mars ;-))).

So when’s next hunt? January, 15?? Count me in… ;-)))
