Tesco....

I walked in Tesco @ The Curve all excited to do a lil "aisle shopping" (macam window shopping like that la.. heheh Tesco no windows maa) with a tinge of hope of finding this tong to put all my scuba stuffs. I found my scuba gear all covered in web and I dont wanna let 'em suffocate with spiderman's web nemore. I couldnt find a big tong, all I could find was a medium size one. I walked round and round and round (and....in the process of walking, I picked up stuffs I dont need - hmmmph aisle shopping konon) and finally I gave up and stopped to ask this girl wearing Tesco uniform, who I correctly assume works there la kan. Pointing at the medium size tong, I asked her whether they have a bigger one. You know what she said.

Tesco girl : Saya rasa kat sebelah sana
Me : Kat mana? Sana? Sana tu bukan shampoo, sabun pastu food area ke?
Tesco Girl : Ha'ah. Cuba tengok kat sebelah tissue area tuh.
Me : Tissue area? Kat Shampoo tuh? Betul ke?
Tesco Girl : Tak tau la kak. Saya pon tak tau
Annoyed Me : Awak tak tau? Awak kerja kat sini kan?
Tesco Girl : Sorry kak. Akak pegi la tengok kat sana.

WTF! Seriously, customer service in Malaysia suck big time. I mean, Tesco area is HUGE. She expects me to walk all the way there without knowing whether the product will be there or not. At the very least she could do was ask her supervisor or someone else to confirm whether they have that particular product. A simple "sorry miss, we dont have that here" would do. The point is, she could assist a customer in need. Instead, she pointed to the "horizon", expecting the customer to walk away and leave her alone attending to her chores, what she's being told to do for that day I suppose. Even I know that Tesco or any other hyper markets are divided into areas: households, clothes, electrical so on and so forth. And no way would they put the tongs at the shampoo area. Training is important, and I think these outlets should train their floor employees not only to susun the barangs, but also to know where things are... dont you think so??? *sigh*

Annoyed, I walked to the cashier, who were busy chit chatting amongst themselves, oblivious to what's happening around them. And I think they purposely pretended not to see me. So I cleared my throat and asked, "counter ni bukak ke tak?". Then only, they attended to me. Haiyooo... Does this happen everywhere? I seldom go to the market so I dunno but seriously, a smile and a helping hand goes a looooong way in making customers (me) happy. *sigh*...

Disappointed, I walked to my car at the parking lot, and OMG! I think my ears were gonna pop! The parking "police" (macam traffic police like that) was constantly blowing his whistle and the shrieking noise, I tell ya, ADOI! sakit sungguh telingaku. He was directing cars to move (the cars couldnt move BECAUSE there was a lil traffic jam coz it was raining heavily outside, so everyone was hoping and waiting for an empty space indoors and was double parking here and there). Knowing that fact, the parking "police" was whistling away! ADOI...

Rule number 3. Always ask your abang to accompany you to Tesco. Then buy him something nice/yummy/expensive. The leave all the scoldings and grumpiness to your abang. Settle.

Hahaha...such an interesting post. Anyway we can't blame fully on the tesco girl if she was unable to remember everything in the whole wide area. Then again the way she answers your enquiries is kinda sucky.

Dungu cashiers and bengong security personnels.....kelakar betul.
